Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, just the Mac and the mouse,

When all of a sudden a wail filled the air

As the burglar alarm detected a hair.
I ran to the keypad, pushed down on the code

Hoping neighborly tempers would not explode.

The phone rang and I told the guard I was fine

When over the rooftop came a great whine,
Then four beeps, a grunt, a groan and a sigh

And a deep voice bellowing down from on high:

“Things have come to a pretty pass, I have to say,

When the elves install car alarms right on my sleigh!”
He was dressed for South Florida, wearing shorts and a tee,

With the logo of Lauderdale-down-by-the-sea.
Brakes squealed as a sleigh wheel got caught in the gutter

And Rudolph’s hoof smashed up a hurricane shutter.
“I’m glad you dropped in,” I wanted to say,

But thoughts of a homeowners policy got in the way.
They don’t cover sleigh wheels, or santas, or deer,

So I’d soon be in debt for for this holiday cheer.
“Have a soft drink?” I offered, to get him out faster,

But at moochng this guy was clearly the master.

“Soda? For children! Just give me a brew.

Molsons preferred, but Corona will do.”
“Gee, Santa,” I said, as I eyed his big sack,

“I still have twelve boxes left to unpack.

Instead of a gift this year, maybe your elves

Could help me assemble my lamps and my shelves?

And move this big table and hang all those prints –”
But all of a sudden I saw Santa wince.

“I have a long drive,” he said with a frown,

“And the elves union says they have to put down

Their tools after midnight, or I travel alone

And call for repairs on my cellular phone.

A mechanic on holidays? I don’t do magic

And delaying these gifts to good kids would be tragic.”
A last sip of beer, a quick wave of the hand

And Santa was headed away from my land.
The sleigh was still on the roof, so I cried,

“Take special care as you climb up the side!

Those screens are secure, and they have little wires

To sound an alarm against burglars and fires –”
Too late! A boot crashed and the sirens began

And ’twas back to the keypad before they could scan

My sensors again, for twice in one night

Would give any alarm system cause for a fright.
I’ll be spared Santa’s gifts when I wake Christmas morning

So I’ll just take some time to post a new warning:

“No trespassing: Elves and santas beware!

All visitors must offer to do home repair!”
br
Being in an automobile accident in Mexico is a far more serious situation than having an accident at home-especially for a visiting American, as Mr. Bill Kitto readily tells us, Bill Kitto published his first-hand account of his accident and his subsequent week in the hands of the Mexican authorities in an effort to ensure all Americans driving in Mexico go prepared with all the essentials, Mexican car insurance tops his list, for reasons that will become obvious as you read his story.

Bill Kitto was not traveling for his first time in Mexico when he got into an accident near San Vincente, Mexico while driving his friends truck. An exceedingly cautious driver, Bill was at the wheel because road conditions were deteriorating due to an incoming rain storm, which left him at the mercy of his friends Mexican insurance holder. Bill and his friend were traveling at a cautious 30 MPH hour when they rounded a corner to find a Mexican military hurtling towards them partly on their side of the road. Unable to avoid the crash, the two vehicles impacted head-on left, sending the personnel scattered down an embankment and Bill and his friend into the cliff wall on the opposite side. Within minutes, the Mexican police arrive and one speeds an injured Bill away to a location unknown to him or his companion who is left standing roadside. In Mexico, there is no innocent until proven guilty-exactly the opposite.

Bill finds himself in a Mexican detention cell without any contact and without any knowledge of his fate, in part because at this point he has no way of knowing whether his friend even carried Mexican auto insurance. Hours later, guards return to take him back to the accident scene where he is at least able to reunite with his friend and his friends Mexican car insurance policy. In the U.S., this might mean problem solved, but in Mexico, there is much more to go through.

Bills complete story is long and involved-and not a little discomforting. Bill spends a week alone in a Mexican hospital trying his hardest to stay injured enough to avoid the inside of a Mexican jail; hes at the mercy of the local government, questionable legal representatives, and muddled technology that makes what amounts to paying his way out an act in futility. There were many times when Bill was unsure if he would ever get out of the mess-if he could afford to get out of the mess.

In the end, Bill does gain his tenuous freedom, only after spending more than $28,000 US. Luckily for Bill, he was able to secure the money to secure his freedom, but many other Americans would have fallen far short. Because of the bureaucracy and dishonesty encountered in Mexico, Bill is unsure if he will ever see a return on his lifes investment.

Bill took away a few things from his experience that he strives to pass on to all Americans traveling in Mexico.

* Carry a cell or satellite phone-and learn how to dial in Mexico
* Remain in contact with family in the states that can help you

secure funds if needed and contact Mexican insurance companies as needed (because your ability will be limited)

And above all else-

* MAKE SURE YOU HAVE MEXICAN AUTO INSURANCE-with very good coverage

to cover personal injury and property damage

* Make sure the Mexican car insurance is from a reputable company
* Make sure you carry proof of Mexican Insurance in the vehicle, accessible at all times! (And if you are separated from the vehicle, take the Mexican car insurance ID cards with you!)

Bill Kittos long and trying ordeal proved one thing to him-money makes the Mexican world go round. Down there, they care little about where that money comes from, but whether you can pay the tab or not is what determines your innocence and ultimate freedom. Since fast access to $30,000 or better is a pipe-dream for most of us, the best way to protect yourself when driving in Mexico is to have an excellent Mexican automobile insurance policy to back you./pbr

Anson and Quigley were close friends.
They were joint owners in a small company that ran a sight seeing boat doing harbour tours in a city popular with tourists.
The business had been growing nicely from its fitful start some nine years ago. In fact they had sold the initial boat and upgraded to a character wood vessel that was much admired by their many clients as it plied the waters of this lovely harbour city, stopping here and there to point out and admire the local architecture or attraction.
The boat was very expensive and they and their wives had gone on the hook to the bank to finance it but they were confident it would pay off very well.
Even though Anson and Quigley were close friends, they did not share common views on personal finances.
Anson was by far the more cautious but when he broached the subject of protection from any potential catastrophic event, Quigley would shrug off any of Anson’s suggestions and say that he was quite content with the coverage of their insurance package and change the subject.
Anson would drop the subject but set his own plans in motion.
Murphy was aboard their boat one day and of course that was the day that if anything could go wrong, it went wrong huge!
An elderly passenger had come aboard and was enjoying the day when, on disembarking, he caught his shoe on a gangway cleat and pitched himself clean over the side guard chain and into the water between the boat and the dock. On the way down he hit his head on a piling.
They rescued the passenger promptly but sadly the hit on the head proved damaging to the extent that the poor old gentlemen suffered brain damage and was confined to a wheel chair.
You would be right in expecting that the elderly gentleman and his goading and expectant relatives would drop the writ promptly and they did.
The long and the short of it was that the settlement exceeded their insurance by a very large amount.
When the prosecuting attorneys did their examination for discovery to expose the partners assets outside the business they found that Quigley had a fully paid for house, a sizeable investment portfolio, a piece of investment property, a large motor home, an antique car and a stamp collection which over the years had become Quigley’s pride and joy and was now worth a tidy sum.
They took it all. Even the stamp collection.
When they looked into Anson’s affairs they found that his house was mortgaged to the hilt. The second mortgage was held by a company domiciled in Panama and duly registered in all the right places.
Anson had been making payment as required.
He had a few thousand in his checking account, a used car and that was pretty well it.
There was nothing more to see or attach?so they gave up on trying getting anything more out of Anson.
The old gentleman’s fall had cost both partners equally in business assets but when it came to the private stuff, Quigley was wiped out and Anson survived almost unscathed.
When it was all over, Quigley asked his friend just what he had squirreled away, where and how.
Anson reminded Quigley of how often he had tried to steer him the right way and how Quigley had ignored him.
They are still friends but probably won’t go into business together again and every now and then they meet at the local pub and hoist one together and Quigley looks at his friend— and wonders.
Epilogue:
Anson had enlisted the aid of an accountant he knew of who specialised in offshore financial planning.
No one knows for sure whether he owns that ranch that he visits often in Mexico, or that investment portfolio in the Turks and Caicos or that hefty bank balance in a well known Swiss bank.
No one knows for sure because nothing is registered in his own name.
Question:
Which one are you?
Anson or Quigley?
The author has been involved in the financial arena for most of his adult life, latterly as the CEO of a successful financial services company which he sold a decade ago to devote his time to advising a select group of clients in prudent and cautious uses of offshore structuring. He has traveled extensively among many offshore jurisdictions over a span of 25 years and acquired hands on experience together with high quality contacts and resources in the better jurisdictions.
We often turn the pages of auto magazines in haste so that we can choose the right kind of vehicle we would like to drive on. Besides, we should also get serious on what kind of cheapest life insurance is suitable for us. Every month the auto magazines bring out various kinds of new vehicles in the market. The design and price often glitter in front of one’s eyes. Well in this context, we should also take out a few seconds to ponder on what kind of insurance will be suitable for us. Whether one owns a vehicle or not, at least having a life insurance is very important. Most of the cheapest life insurance plans available in the market includes all kinds of services like money on accidents, hospitalization, vehicle repair etc. Different life insurance plans have different kinds of features. In the UK most of the people take life insurance quotes in order to ensure protection of their lives under any unpredictable circumstances. The massive increase in the hospitalization fees has really been shocking as the common men and women are finding it difficult to cope up with the new hospitalization price list. Sometimes people are forced to think that it is better to die than living in a high end hospital for a couple of months. Taking the cheapest life insurance is the key towards leading a better and healthy life. In the United Kingdom there is no scarcity of life insurance companies. These companies always make the UK market alive with attractive insurance plans. Finding offers and discounts would not be a problem at all. As far as market study is concerned all the life insurance companies operate their businesses through online portals. Enthusiastic people can visit their online portals for knowing the current offers. Well for those people who would like to bargain hard on the prices of life insurance plans for them following various types of price comparison site will be a great advantage. Nowadays leading a life without having a beneficial insurance plan is almost impossible. Unexpected danger hovers around all the time while driving a car on the highway. Let us guard ourselves with the cheapest insurance plan and live it without any tension.

Identity theft insurance normally costs a nominal amount monthly and may help thwart exorbitant losses should the case arise where your identity is stolen.

It’s really unfortunate that trying to thwart identity theft has become almost a full time job. With some many new developments, and sneakier tactics and strategies employed by folks to compromise other people’s individualized info online, it’s unquestionably a brave new world that we are facing. For example, 100 percent try to exercise safer browsing, and avoid downloading programs that are not digitally signed or that seem suspect.

Don’t follow any links in your emails, if the email doesn’t come from a trusted source or third party. When using public pc terminals, try to avert using your credit card information and also entering any personal tidbits such as your password and username. Just keep your eye opened and you should be much better off. Remember those who like to steal other people’s data are seeking simpler targets. Don’t let yourself be an obvious target.
